Module
Purpose |
To
provide the Participant with an understanding and interpretation of the
changes to the Cabling Provider Rules (CPRs) as defined in AS/ACIF
S009:2006 and how these changes relate to the previous CPRs established
under AS/ACIF S009:2001.
The requirement to ensure all
telecommunications, security, lift and fire alarm cabling is installed
according to the new CPRs cannot be over emphasised. Cablers have
a legally enforceable obligation to cable in accordance with the new
rules for all installations commenced on or after 1 July, 2006. |
Relationship to competency standards |
It is advisable that
Participants currently hold either Restricted, Lift or Open Registration
as this module relates to the changes between the old regulations
(pre-30 June, 2006) and the new regulations which come into effect as of
1 July, 2006. |
Learning Outcomes |
At the
conclusion of this training, the Participant will -

Be made aware of how the relevant changes in CPRs affect work
practices and wiring standards.

Be made aware of the new rules which will affect all installations
after 1 July, 2006.

Be informed of the new definitions, standards and terminologies
which affect cabling installations under the new AS/ACIF S009:2006
rules.
