Module Purpose

To provide an awareness of the use of drugs and alcohol and its effect on the body.   In addition, the legal implications of the use of drugs and alcohol are discussed and highlighted, as well as the problems of use in the workplace. (This may be the effect of social use that can impinge on the work environment.)

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this training, the Participant will be able to -

•    Understand the effects that various drugs and alcohol has on  the body - short and long term effects.
•    Understand the risks of use both mental and physical.
•    Understand the legal aspects of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Assessment method

Can be either discussion or multiple choice/short answers as required.
